Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 27 July 2026
These Terms and Conditions apply to your use of this website and to products purchased directly from RTOIP LTD through this website.
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before placing an order. By placing an order, you confirm that you have read and accepted them.
1. About us
This website is operated by:
RTOIP LTD
Company number: 16755640
Registered office:
27 Old Gloucester Street
London
United Kingdom
WC1N 3AX
You can contact us through the Contact page on this website.
Do not send product returns to our registered office unless we have confirmed that address in the return instructions.
2. These Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions apply to orders placed directly with RTOIP LTD through this website.
A separate retailer, distributor or reseller may apply its own terms to products purchased from that organisation. Returns and payment enquiries relating to those purchases should normally be directed to the original seller.
If you are purchasing mainly for purposes connected with your trade, business, craft or profession, you are a business customer. Certain consumer rights, including the statutory cooling-off period, do not apply to business purchases.
Separate written terms agreed between RTOIP LTD and a business customer will take priority over these Terms and Conditions where they conflict.
3. Product information
We take reasonable care to describe and display our products accurately. Product photographs, diagrams, renders and illustrations are provided to help explain the product but may not reproduce its exact appearance, colour, surface finish or dimensions on every screen.
Minor variations may occur between manufacturing batches provided that they do not materially reduce the product’s intended function, quality or safety.
Packaging, accessories, software, firmware and product presentation may be updated from time to time.
Any estimated visibility, brightness, operating time, power consumption or performance information is indicative. Actual results may depend on installation, configuration, ambient light, weather, viewing angle, aircraft orientation, supply voltage, connected equipment and other operating conditions.
4. Selecting the correct product
You are responsible for checking that the product and selected options are suitable for your aircraft, canopy, electrical system, connected equipment and intended installation.
Where a printable fitting template is provided, it must be printed at the correct scale and checked against the canopy before ordering or installing the product.
You are responsible for selecting the appropriate standard mounting-base profile or curvature.
If you are unsure about compatibility, wiring, installation or the required mounting profile, contact us before ordering or ask a suitably qualified person to check the installation requirements.
5. Custom-made products
Some products or components may be manufactured specifically to measurements, drawings, templates or other requirements supplied by the customer.
Where a product is genuinely made to your specifications or clearly personalised, it will be identified as custom-made before the order is accepted.
The statutory right to cancel for a change of mind may not apply to custom-made or clearly personalised products. This does not affect your rights where a custom-made product is faulty, not as described or has not been manufactured in accordance with the agreed specification.
6. Placing an order
You must provide complete and accurate information when placing an order, including your contact details, delivery address and selected product options.
After you place an order, we will normally send an electronic acknowledgement. This acknowledgement confirms that we have received your order but does not necessarily mean that the order has been accepted.
A contract between you and RTOIP LTD is formed when we send confirmation that the order has been accepted or dispatched.
We may decline or cancel an order where:
- The product is unavailable.
- The product or price has been displayed incorrectly.
- Payment cannot be authorised.
- We cannot deliver to the supplied address.
- We reasonably suspect fraud or misuse.
- The requested configuration cannot be safely or practically supplied.
- The order breaches applicable law or these Terms and Conditions.
If payment has already been taken for an order that we cannot accept, we will refund the amount paid.
7. Prices
Product prices are those displayed on the website when the order is placed, subject to correction of obvious errors.
Delivery charges and any other applicable charges will be displayed before the order is submitted.
We may change prices at any time, but a price change will not normally affect an order that we have already accepted.
For international deliveries, the customer may be responsible for local import duties, taxes, customs-clearance charges or handling fees. Unless expressly stated otherwise, these charges are not included in the product or delivery price.
8. Payment
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods displayed during checkout.
Payments may be processed by PayPal or another payment provider. The payment provider may apply its own terms and privacy policy.
We do not normally receive or store your complete payment-card number or card security code.
You confirm that you are authorised to use the selected payment method and that the payment information provided is accurate.
9. Delivery
Available delivery methods, estimated charges and estimated dispatch or delivery times will be displayed during checkout or in the relevant product description.
Delivery dates are estimates unless we expressly agree a guaranteed delivery date in writing.
Custom-made products may require a longer manufacturing period. The estimated manufacturing time will be communicated before or after the order is placed.
Unless a different period has been agreed, consumer orders will normally be delivered within 30 days after the contract is formed.
We are not responsible for delays caused by customs authorities, incomplete delivery information, events outside our reasonable control or a recipient’s failure to accept delivery.
You must check the delivery address before submitting the order. Contact us promptly if an address needs to be corrected. We cannot guarantee that an address can be changed after dispatch.
10. Risk and ownership
For consumer orders, responsibility for the product normally passes to you when the product is delivered to you or to a person identified by you to receive it.
Ownership of the product passes to you after we have received full payment for it.
11. Checking your delivery
Please inspect the package and product as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
Contact us promptly if the product is missing, damaged in transit, incomplete or different from the product ordered. Where possible, provide photographs of the packaging, shipping label, product and reported damage.
Reporting delivery damage promptly helps us investigate the matter with the carrier. It does not remove or reduce your statutory rights.
12. Consumer right to cancel
If you are a consumer who purchased a standard product online, you normally have the right to cancel the contract without giving a reason.
The cancellation period ends 14 days after the day on which you, or a person nominated by you other than the carrier, receives the product.
If one order is delivered in separate packages on different days, the cancellation period normally ends 14 days after receipt of the final package.
To exercise the right to cancel, you must send us a clear statement explaining that you wish to cancel. You may:
- Use the Contact page on this website.
- Send the model cancellation form included at the end of this page.
- Write to our registered office.
You do not have to use the model cancellation form, but your cancellation notice must be sent before the cancellation period expires.
This is the statutory 14-day cancellation right. RTOIP LTD does not currently offer an additional voluntary change-of-mind return period.
13. Exceptions to the cancellation right
The statutory change-of-mind cancellation right may not apply to:
- Products made to your specifications.
- Clearly personalised products.
- Custom mounting bases or enclosures manufactured using measurements, templates or requirements supplied specifically for your aircraft.
- Sealed software or other sealed items where applicable law removes the cancellation right after the seal has been broken.
- Digital content supplied immediately after you expressly agreed to immediate supply and acknowledged the loss of the cancellation right.
An applicable exception will be identified before the relevant order is accepted.
These exceptions do not remove your rights where a product is faulty, not as described or does not meet an agreed specification.
14. Returning a cancelled order
After notifying us that you are cancelling, you must return the product within 14 days.
Contact us before sending the product so that we can provide the correct return address and return instructions.
Do not send products to our registered office unless we have confirmed that it is the correct return address.
Unless the product is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or we agree otherwise, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning a change-of-mind cancellation.
We recommend using appropriate protective packaging and a tracked, insured delivery service. You remain responsible for the product until it is delivered to the specified return address.
You may examine the product in the same way that you reasonably could in a shop. We may reduce the refund to reflect a reduction in value caused by handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish the product’s nature, characteristics and function.
Installation, applying adhesive mounting tape, cutting cables, altering connectors, changing wiring or otherwise modifying the product may reduce its value and, depending on the circumstances, may result in a deduction from the refund.
15. Refunds following cancellation
Where the statutory cancellation right applies, we will refund:
- The price paid for the returned product.
- The cost of our least expensive standard outbound delivery option, where an outbound delivery charge was paid.
We are not required to refund the additional cost of an express, expedited or premium delivery method selected by you above the cost of our standard delivery option.
We may withhold the refund until we have received the returned product or you provide evidence that it has been sent back, whichever occurs first.
The refund will normally be made within 14 days after we receive the returned product or acceptable evidence of return.
Refunds will normally be made using the original payment method unless another method is expressly agreed.
16. Faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied products
Products supplied to consumers must be of satisfactory quality, fit for any purpose made known and accepted before purchase, and match their description.
Contact us if you believe a product is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described.
We may ask for:
- Proof of purchase.
- The product serial number.
- A description of the fault and when it occurred.
- Photographs or video showing the product and installation.
- Information about the supply voltage and connected equipment.
- The product configuration or relevant diagnostic information.
We may ask you to stop using the product and return it for examination.
Where the product is confirmed to be faulty or incorrectly supplied, we will provide the remedy required by applicable law. This may include a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund.
We will arrange or reimburse reasonable standard return costs where we are legally responsible for the return.
17. Twelve-month product warranty
In addition to your statutory rights, RTOIP LTD provides a 12-month limited product warranty.
The warranty begins on the date the product is delivered to the original purchaser.
During the warranty period, we will repair or replace, at our reasonable discretion, a product that develops a defect in materials or workmanship during normal use in accordance with the supplied instructions.
If repair or replacement is not reasonably possible, we may provide another appropriate remedy.
We may use new or professionally tested replacement parts or products. A replacement may differ cosmetically from the original but will provide materially equivalent functionality.
A repaired or replaced product remains covered for the remainder of the original warranty period or any longer minimum period required by law.
18. Warranty exclusions
The 12-month warranty does not cover damage or faults caused by:
- Incorrect, unsafe or unauthorised installation.
- Incorrect wiring, pin assignments, polarity or connections.
- Connecting the product to an incompatible or incorrectly wired FLARM, power supply or other external device.
- Supply voltage, electrical transients or external electrical conditions outside the published product limits.
- Failure to follow the installation or operating instructions.
- User-created flash patterns, settings or duty cycles operated outside the published limits or continued use after a displayed warning.
- Misuse, neglect, abuse or unreasonable operation.
- Impact, crash, accident or excessive mechanical force.
- Water, condensation, chemicals, solvents, contamination or heat resulting from incorrect installation, sealing, storage or use.
- Modification, disassembly or unauthorised repair.
- Damage to or removal of serial-number or identification markings.
- Normal cosmetic wear or normal deterioration of mounting materials.
- A fault in the aircraft, wiring, power supply, connected equipment or another third-party product.
Before refusing a warranty claim, we may inspect and test the product and consider the information reasonably available about its installation and use.
This warranty is provided in addition to your statutory rights. It does not exclude, restrict or replace any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
19. Installation and wiring responsibilities
The Glider Canopy Flasher must be installed in accordance with the current product instructions and all applicable aircraft, electrical, maintenance and airworthiness requirements.
Before connecting the product, you must check the wiring, pinout, voltage, polarity and compatibility of the FLARM or other equipment being connected.
Do not assume that connectors with the same physical shape use the same pin assignments or electrical levels.
Incorrect wiring may damage the Glider Canopy Flasher, the aircraft, FLARM equipment or other connected devices.
If you are not fully confident that the wiring and installation are correct, you must ask a suitably qualified person to inspect or complete the installation.
You are responsible for ensuring that:
- The selected mounting profile fits the canopy correctly.
- The mounting surfaces are properly prepared.
- The product is securely attached.
- The installation does not obstruct the pilot’s view.
- The installation does not interfere with canopy operation.
- The installation does not obstruct emergency egress.
- Cables cannot interfere with controls or moving components.
- The product is protected from inappropriate mechanical loads.
- The installation is inspected before flight.
20. Aviation approval and airworthiness
You are responsible for determining whether the product may legally be installed and used in the relevant aircraft and jurisdiction.
You are also responsible for obtaining any inspection, approval, sign-off, modification acceptance or documentation required by the aircraft owner, operator, maintenance organisation, inspector, aviation authority or applicable airworthiness system.
Any reference on this website to a regulation, standard, acceptable means of compliance or standard change does not by itself constitute approval of a particular installation in a particular aircraft.
Installation requirements may depend on the aircraft type, registration, operating category, jurisdiction and the details of the proposed installation.
21. Operational safety
The Glider Canopy Flasher is intended as a conspicuity aid. It is not a substitute for effective visual lookout, safe airmanship, required navigation or collision-avoidance equipment, or compliance with applicable aviation rules.
The product cannot guarantee that another pilot, aircraft, camera, sensor or observer will see the flashing light.
Visibility and detection depend on many factors, including weather, ambient light, viewing angle, distance, aircraft orientation, obstructions and observer attention.
The pilot in command remains responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft and for maintaining an effective lookout.
Do not use the product where it is damaged, incorrectly mounted, operating abnormally or suspected to be unsafe.
The product must not be configured or operated in a manner that causes unacceptable distraction, glare, electrical loading, overheating or interference with other equipment.
22. Software, firmware and configuration
Some product functions depend on software, firmware, configuration settings and communication with third-party devices.
You are responsible for checking settings and product operation after installation, configuration changes and firmware updates.
Do not interrupt a firmware update unless instructed to do so. Loss of power or communication during an update may cause the update to fail.
User-programmable patterns must remain within the published operating limits. Warnings concerning duty cycle, power consumption or other operating limits must not be ignored.
We may release updates that correct faults, improve performance, add functionality or maintain compatibility. We do not guarantee that every feature or third-party connection will remain unchanged indefinitely.
23. Third-party equipment and services
The product may connect to or operate with equipment, applications, communication protocols or services supplied by third parties.
Third-party products and services are outside our control and may be changed, discontinued or updated by their respective providers.
A reference to a third-party product, manufacturer or service does not mean that RTOIP LTD controls or endorses that third party.
We are not responsible for faults in third-party equipment or for changes made by third parties that affect compatibility, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
24. Our liability to consumers
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful. This includes liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
- Defective products where liability cannot legally be excluded.
- Your statutory rights relating to goods.
- Any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
If we breach these Terms and Conditions, we are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of that breach or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed.
We are not responsible for loss caused by incorrect installation, incompatible wiring, misuse, unauthorised modification, failure to follow instructions, or a fault in the aircraft or connected equipment.
Products sold through this website are supplied primarily for private use. If a consumer uses a product for a commercial or business purpose, we are not responsible for business interruption, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of business or loss of business opportunity, except where such liability cannot legally be excluded.
25. Business customers
Where you purchase wholly or mainly for business purposes, consumer cancellation rights do not apply.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RTOIP LTD will not be liable to a business customer for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of business, loss of opportunity, loss of anticipated savings or business interruption.
Nothing in this section excludes or restricts liability that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
26. Website availability and content
We aim to keep the website available and accurate but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
We may suspend, withdraw, restrict or change any part of the website for maintenance, security, operational or legal reasons.
General website content is provided for information and does not replace aircraft-specific engineering, installation, maintenance, regulatory or legal advice.
27. Acceptable website use
You must not:
- Use the website for an unlawful or fraudulent purpose.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or its systems.
- Introduce malware or other harmful code.
- Interfere with the website’s operation or security.
- Scrape or extract website content using unreasonable automated means.
- Misrepresent your identity when placing an order or contacting us.
- Use website content in a way that infringes intellectual-property rights.
28. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the website, product names, product designs, photographs, diagrams, graphics, text, software, firmware, documentation and other content are owned by or licensed to RTOIP LTD.
You may view and print website content for your personal use and may use product instructions for the installation and operation of a legitimately purchased product.
You must not reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, publish or commercially exploit our content without prior written permission, except where permitted by law.
29. External links
The website may contain links to websites operated by third parties. These links are provided for convenience and information.
RTOIP LTD does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for their availability, content, security, terms or privacy practices.
30. Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available through the link in the website footer.
31. Events outside our reasonable control
We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by an event outside our reasonable control.
Such events may include:
- Postal or courier disruption.
- Customs delays.
- Transport disruption.
- Severe weather.
- Fire, flood or natural disaster.
- War, civil emergency or government action.
- Industrial disputes.
- Power, internet or telecommunications failures.
- Failure of a supplier despite reasonable precautions.
We will take reasonable steps to reduce the effect of the event and will contact affected customers where appropriate.
32. Changes to these Terms and Conditions
We may update these Terms and Conditions when our products, website, business processes or legal obligations change.
The version applying to an order will normally be the version published when the order was placed, unless a change is required by law or agreed with you.
33. Transfer of rights
We may transfer our rights or obligations under a contract to another organisation, provided that doing so does not reduce your statutory rights.
You may transfer your rights only where we agree in writing or where the law permits the transfer.
34. Severability
If a court or competent authority decides that part of these Terms and Conditions is unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
35. No waiver
If we do not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms and Conditions, this does not prevent us from enforcing it later.
36. Third-party rights
Unless expressly stated otherwise, a person who is not a party to the contract has no right to enforce these Terms and Conditions.
37. Governing law and courts
These Terms and Conditions and contracts between you and RTOIP LTD are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, but this does not deprive a consumer of mandatory legal protections or rights to bring proceedings available in the part of the United Kingdom or other country in which they live.
38. Complaints and contact
If you have a question, complaint, cancellation request, return request or warranty claim, contact us through the Contact page on this website.
Please include, where relevant:
- Your name and contact details.
